However, as I said, just adding the EL itself as a non-Steam Game and launching the game from there worked fine and I was able to access the Steam Client from the game just like I can with native Steam Games. I've had it for a while now because Epic gave it a way for free a while back. You can also use the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open Task Manager.

Right click the Windows taskbar and choose task manager from the menu. You can also use your keyboard to select a suggestion, using down, up and enter keys. If you come across Steam not loading store, you can try this fix first. Keep typing and select more filters to narrow games search down. You ll get a list of suggestions for platforms, features, VR support, supported languages and tags. I've been Playing Shadow Complex Remastered for a couple of hours now using my Steam Controller via Epic Launcher. Start typing any filter in the field below. Then just launch the games from the Epic Launcher. Just add the Epic Launcher to Steam as a Non-Steam Game and launch it from there with your SC turned on.
